


Neath born, Nigel Davies is a musician of long and varied experience. He started classical piano lessons at 8 and passed his grade 8 Royal School of Music Exam at the age of 14. He was a member of various local bands during his teen years and during and after university worked with musicians as diverse as Stefan Grapelli, George Melly and Van der Graaf generator. This led to keyboard session work in the famous Rockfield Studios. Nigel semi-retired from playing for some years and his musical involvement then took the direction of concert promotion and band management. Then in 2000, the performing bug bit again and Nigel played keyboard and guitar with several bands of different musical genres. Recently, Nigel has played stand in sessions on guitar, keys and mandolin for the BBC. Nigel has now found the home for his musical ambitions with the formation of Moongazer. Nigel is the main songwriter in Moongazer, which since it’s formation in 2006 continues to go from strength to strength at a formidable pace.
